The Be a Kid Again Glow Gala planning committee is hard at work putting together some wonderful and enticing auction packages.
Take home a stunning inspired painting created collaboratively by young Museum visitors and professional artist, Jennifer Mercede. As one of the Museum’s nine Artists in Residence, Jennifer spent 12 weeks exploring the creative process with children, encouraging them to experiment with different art materials. This ready-to-hang piece, on display in the entryway, measures 40” x 96” and would look gorgeous in a hallway or a large room.
Experience some of the region’s tastiest beverages in classic Portland style. A distillery tour by bike with PDX Pedicab (not to worry; they do the pedaling), and entry into the Multnomah Whiskey Library, recently named one of the country’s best whiskey bars, are just a couple of the experiences in this package. To stretch out your enjoyment for a year, we’ll send you home with no less than five cases filled with wine from Underwood, Owen Roe, and others, Widmer Brothers beer, New Deal vodka, and more
How can you not be excited by the recent successes of our very own Portland Trail Blazers, Timbers, and Thorns? Share in the excitement when your group of four takes in a Blazers game next season in style from a luxury box, attends a Timbers game with seats in the Key Bank Club (including food and parking!), and meets the Thorns players post-game for autographs. Display your support by wearing, kicking or dribbling some team swag, but be careful—much of it is signed
Rest easy; we’ve planned your year of getaways. When you need a break, book your mountain home in Parkdale (first LEED home on the West Coast, featured in Sunset Magazine), beach vacation in Lincoln City, weeklong adventure in Sunriver, or staycation in Portland’s thriving Mississippi District. You can use your $200 McMenamins credit on yet another getaway, or simply go for a couple of massages and a glass of wine.
Your group of six is welcomed to a weeklong stay at this beautiful 3 bedroom/3 bath home in La Conner, Washington, across the Skagit Bay from Whidbey Island. From the deck or living room, with floor to ceiling windows, enjoy sweeping views of the Bay. Stroll down to Martha’s Beach to skip rocks and watch the eagles soar, or to Shelter Bay Marina for a round of golf or dip in the pool. Walk around quaint La Connor, visiting shops, galleries, and museums before your dinner at La Connor Brewing Company. Ferries (and maybe whales!) await you if you choose to arrange a water adventure.
All you and your sweetie need for monthly date nights for an entire year will come in just one envelope. Have dinner at one of Portland’s finest restaurants (Higgins, perhaps?) and then head out to a performance at the Artists Repertory Theatre. Or visit NE Portland with a meal at Toro Bravo prior to spending a night at the first tiny house hotel in the country. Maybe it’s Tasty N Alder followed by your favorite band at a live studio show. All are possible and more. All you need to do is find the babysitter.
Join us in Outdoor Adventure, Portland Children’s Museum’s 1.3 acre outdoor exhibit. You and 100 of your friends or colleagues are welcomed to come drink from a Widmer Brothers keg and eat warm s’mores during this two-hour party under the stars. A staff member will stoke the fire while you entertain, so come let us be your hosts!
Get behind the curtain of one of the Portland area’s most reclusive residents, Nike Inc. Take a tour of Nike’s top secret Innovation Lab, where new materials and ideas are tested. Then work hand-in-hand with your personal Nike Design consultant in a private appointment, reviewing a range of material options to design your one-of-a-kind shoe. Return home with two pairs of shoes, some other Nike gear, and the envy of all your friends.
Head off to the desert for a 4 days/4 night stay at this tranquil Sedona home, located in the gated Canyon Mesa Country Club. With 2 bedrooms and 3 baths, your group of six will be comfortable as you gaze out over the second fairway. Enjoy golf, tennis, swimming and nearby hiking trails, showing up prepared for your adventures with a new water bottle and a Columbia Sportswear tote and backpack. If you prefer to relax, the on-site spa may be your speed, or perhaps the Sedona vortexes will do the trick
